Summer Rugby Season Update - 2009
2009 Summer Rugby

U19 PAC 7's Tournament - Saturday June 27th
The tournament is being held at the Maryland Soccerplex (see directions page)
Please remember ALL players must be CIPPed, if you have not done so, please CIPP as soon as possible.
RULES OF THE FACILITY:
- No alcohol
- No metal cleats, MOLDED CLEATS ONLY
- No pets
- Only water is allowed on the turf fields (Do not bring Gatorade onto the pitch)
- Parking only in marked spaces. All other cars will be ticketed.
- There are bathrooms for men and women next to the parking lot…use them.
CONCESSIONS:
We will have a full service concession stand with coffee and doughnuts in the morning. Gatorade, Soda and Water all day along with granola bars, power bars etc. We will also have a grill and fry stand for everyone’s food needs.
ALL players are required to use molded cleats and must must bring black rugby shorts and a mouthpiece

U13, U15, and U17 full contact, tackle
We will practice and scrimmage on Thursday from 6pm to 7:40pm at Baker Park in Frederick next to the tennis courts.
We are running a Summer season where we practice and scrimmage on Thursday evenings. We are collaborating with the Virginia Youth Tackle teams to join their youth teams and play on several selected dates in late June and early July. We also have the opportunity to scrimmage a few Maryland youth teams.
Interested players can join anytime to learn full contact rugby during June and early July. We are using the limited Summer season to introduce tackle rugby to new players and to provide a full contact practice for current and experienced players.
We run practice and scrimmage from 6pm to 7:40pm on Thursday evenings in Baker Park. Contact Coach Vincent at 301-524-5721 for more information. Players should be registered and prepared for contact at each practice; make sure you bring your mouth piece and plenty of water.
Parents interested in helping with practice and coaching are welcome to attend and run -- a great opportunity for fitness and learning rugby.

All players are required to complete USA Rugby CIPP registration (usarugby.org).
CIPP fee is $20 and covers 1 year from Sept. 2008 - August 2009. (See Player Info page for more information)

ALL FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED AND FEES TURNED into Cathi Ferguson or to the coaches before you can practice

Off-Season Workouts
Players,
If you are not playing a sport, players should be doing these workouts as a minimum. If you are in another sport, use these workouts to supplements your training. Go to the Document Downloads than Coaching & Practice Help and download the file marked Off-season Workouts. Lets start getting ready for the 2009 season, which is only a couple of weeks away.
